Dust Kitten

Hey all! I know I'm bad about posting things on here, but I just put up a kids' story that I wrote and would LOVE it if people would read and comment:
The Dust Kitten
I need to know if any part of it doesn't read well or flow, etc. because I'd really like this to look professional when all is said and done. It'll be going into my portfolio (probably never published, since publishers don't like to buy books written and illustrated by the same person) to hopefully help one of my career goals get started.
When the images are done, hopefully I'll have the wherewithal to post them on here as well!

I actually don't remember exactly where I found it, but it's an Italian proverb I found somewhere. I first found an English translation of it, and then I translated it back into Italian because it's prettier that way.

If it's "once the game is finished (or has ended) the king and the pawn go back into the same box", I think the translation would be "Quando il gioco finisce il re ed il pegno vanno nella stessa scatola" or maybe "tornano nella stessa scatola" but I'm not exactly sure, depending on if you want "go into" or "return to" (respectively). If it's in the past tense, you'd need "è" before "finito" and "sono andati" for "vanno".
Huh. I didn't know this proverb ^_^ Sorry for the grammar lesson....language is one of the things that makes me tick.
